Drug dealer arrested in Sheppie, weapons and liquor seized

A joint operation involving Port Shepstone Crime Prevention, Public Order Policing and UGU Cluster Operational Command Centre was held on Friday 16 August which was aimed at eradicating illegal use of drugs and alcohol in Port Shepstone and surrounding areas.

A 29 year old male was arrested at Port Shepstone Taxi rank after he was found in possession of seventeen (17) heroin capsules with a street value of R510-00. He was due to appear at Port Shepstone Magistrates Court on Monday morning as he was charged for dealing in drugs.

On the same day of the operation, the officers with the assistance of Warrant Officer Johan Maree proceeded to Mkholombe, Murchison and Louisiana area where they confiscated a substantial amount of beer to the value of R700. Six people were fined for selling liquor without a license.  A number of dangerous weapons were also confiscated during the raid.
