Due to inclement weather being forecast, the first drag racing event of the year at Dezzi South Coast Raceway, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been moved to Sunday.
A total of 80 of the fastest cars and bikes from around Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal will compete for racing honours.
Weather permitting, the track will be prepped with track bite, which helps the drag cars gain more traction, which in turn allows the car to put more power down without spinning, resulting in faster exit speeds and quicker times.
Entry fee for the event is R70 and free for kids under the age of 12. All grandstand seats are now free and work on a first come, first seat policy.
Patrons are allowed to bring plastic bottles and their own meals, chairs and gazebos, but strictly no alcohol, cooler boxes, weapons or drugs.
The picturesque sea views and majestic decks set in the heart of Oslo Beach, a mere 100km from Durban Central, is the ideal getaway.
The raceway is a family-friendly venue and organisers KZN Drag Racing encourage parents to bring the kids along to come witness all the action.
KZN Drag Racing have an open pit policy which is a hit amongst the petrol heads as they can interact with the drivers as well as view the cars and bikes up close and personal.
