Burry Stander’s ghost bike is still missing, the South African mountain biking legend’s mother Mandie has confirmed to eHowzit.

“I went and put an old entry-level bike that I sprayed white there [on the corner of Stott Street and the R102 in Shelly Beach, where the fatal accident took place on January 3, 2013] for Burry this morning.

“The original bike is still missing and we are still desperate to find it as it was Burry’s back-up bike for the 2008 Olympics,” Mandie told eHowzit on Monday afternoon.

As eHowzit first reported, the two-time Olympian’s ghost bike was stolen last Tuesday, along with a photo collage.

Anyone with information about the stolen bike is urged to contact Mandie at 079 493 7499.
