Franchise cricket will return to the South Coast this week with the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and VBK Knights colliding at Port Shepstone Country Club from Tuesday to Thursday.
The two teams entertained local cricket lovers in historic clashes at the same venue, which is a KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union hub, last year and will lock horns again in three warm-up games.
The three-day cricket feast will get underway with 50-over matches on Tuesday and Wednesday (starting at 10am) and will finish with an action-packed T20 game on Thursday (starting at 1pm).
Both franchises are expected to field their strongest sides in these fixtures, which form part of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union’s strategy to intensively introduce the Dolphins franchise to other parts of the province.
The players will trade their bats for clubs in the celebrity golf day on Friday – a scramble drive alliance that offers locals an opportunity to share a round with some of the cricket stars.
Funds raised will go towards upgrading the cricket facilities at the club. To book a round of golf with a player, contact the Port Shepstone Country Club Pro Shop on 039 695 0140.
