Golfers came out in bright colours and great humour to putt for South Coast Hospice at Southbroom Golf Club recently.
The golfers especially enjoyed the tot of sherry on the first hole, warming them up on the chilly winter’s day, and the boerie rolls on the 6th hole served by the South Coast Hospice staff proved a delicious treat.
Malcolm Moorley and Piet Joubert won the Cancer Classic betterball stableford on 48 points, winning by two points from Don Osbourn and Bob Clark.
There was a three-way tie for third place (45) between Craig Treherne and Grant Richards, Candida Amm and Jill Webster, as well as Malcolm Greenland and Derek Pieterse.
Richard Savage, the Treasurer on the board of South Coast Hospice, thanked the golfers for their support. He implored the group to continue supporting South Coast Hospice in these difficult economic times.
“Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors for making this golf day a great success,” added BT King, South Coast Hospice’s fundraiser.
