The five-a-side hockey tournament held at Izotsha Primary School on Saturday was a smashing success.
A total of 23 teams ranging from Grade R to Grade Seven youngsters participated in the fun tournament. They were greeted by stunning weather and produced some great hockey to keep the parents entertained.
The tournament was a fundraiser for Kai Hielckert and Reece du Toit, who have been selected to represent the South Coast Marlins in the Pro Series Indoor Nationals in Cape Town this month.
Adding to the excitement was a highly-entertaining encounter between the umpires and the Grade Seven boys.
The winning teams were the Pink Sticks (Grade 1/2 Girls), Injured but not Beaten (Grade 1/2 Boys), Chicks with Sticks (Grade 3 Girls), Bad Boys (Grade 3 Boys), 80s Comeback (Grade 4/5 Girls), Sticks of Fury (Grade 5/6 Boys), Fire Ants (Grade 6/7 Girls) and Black Ops (Grade 6/7 Boys).
