The Hope Commission Family Fun Day in aid of South Coast Hospice will be held at the Illovo Sugar Mill Grounds on Sunday 2 July.
Families, as well as St Martin de Porres pupils, will take to the Tendele Trail in three events, namely a 3km walk run (free), 5km walk/run/cycle (R10 per person) and 12km run/cycle (R20 per person).
This is a known trail which was developed by Ugu Athletics Club’s Raj Naganna and officially opened by then-Minister of Housing Ravi Pillay in 2015.
It is well established and only the 12km run route has technical and challenging areas. Wheelchair users and walkers are welcome on the 3km and 5km routes.
There is no traffic on the routes, seconding tables will be provided and Lazer 911 security will be present.
There will be a hamper raffle (R10 per ticket) on the day to be drawn at the event and lucky draw prizes will be handed out. Registration will be from 6am to 6.45am with a 7am start.
The Hope Commission includes Mbango River Conservancy, Ugu Athletics Club, Hope Park Committee, 4 Nations Car Group and Lazer 911 Security.
