STATEMENT BY NSRI SHELLY BEACH STATION COMMANDER JEREMIAH JACKSON:

On Thursday, 28th February, at 10h15, NSRI Shelly Beach duty crew responded aboard the sea rescue craft Spirit of Dawn to off-shore of St Michaels where a jet-ski with a local 51 year old man onboard required assistance after his jet-ski motor failed to start while he was fishing and the jet-ski took on water.

Crew on a local private boat Sea Witch assisted the man and took his jet-ski under tow and on our arrival on the scene near to Uvongo we took over the tow of the casualty jet-ski and the casualty man was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and we towed him safely to shore without incident.

The crew of Sea Witch are commended for their assistance.
