STATEMENT BY LOWER SOUTH COAST SPCA:

On Thursday, we received a call from Hibberdene Vet. A box with five little kittens were dumped at their doorstep.

Our Inspectorate immediately collected the kittens and we knew that it was a very difficult decision to make as these little kittens could not feed by themselves.

Miraculously, a pregnant stray cat decided to give birth to three kittens in the kennel next to where the veterinarian was assessing the five Hibberdene kittens.

It was a moment of joy and happiness when the new mommy decided she would nurse the five kittens with her own babies.

It was the most heart-warming scene to witness. So much love and tenderness from an animal can be a true lesson of motherhood to all of us.
