STATEMENT BY RNM WARD 2 CLLR DAVE WATSON:

Saturday Update:

Margate Beach open again but, in the interest of public safety, swimming restricted to close inshore area for the interim time. That is, “splash, dip and paddle” fun time!

The whale carcass at Shelly has mostly been disposed of by a team from RNM etc. Thanks guys, unenviable task, well executed! Shark activity greatly reduced according to the KZN Sharks Board.

#margateismagic today, weather is stunning and the vibe is good! Go Bokke!

Bathing banned at three major South Coast beaches due to heightened shark activity
