San Lameer on Sunday hosted its first MTB Open Day since the announcement of the national lockdown in March.
Being Alert Level 2 at present, local cyclists and cycling clubs could participate in a well-received event, during which the appropriate Covid-19 protocols were followed and adhered to.
All participants, young and old, enjoyed the Open Day, which included breakfast at the San Lameer Country Club after the completion of the trail.
The San Lameer MTB trail was built entirely by San Lameer Estate with the assistance of J.A Landscapes.
The trail is graded as intermediate with a Blue Square according to International Trail Marking standards, and has purposefully been designed for the participation of the entire family.
The MTB Trail is made up of seven single track, inter-leading Loops with a total distance of 9.7km.
The trail takes approximately 30-50 minutes per lap to complete, depending on the pace, while the cyclists can view the amazing scenery and wildlife that San Lameer has to offer including a Crowned Eagle pair and numerous species of birds and buck.
All local MTB cyclists and enthusiasts are welcome to join in on the fun during the next MTB Open Day. Keep a lookout for future Open Day dates on the San Lameer and Giant South Coast social media pages.
San Lameer thanks its official MTB partner, Giant South Coast, for organising and managing this successful event.
