The National Sea Rescue Institute assisted a boat that had mechanical trouble in Margate on Saturday.

NSRI Shelly Beach duty crew launched the sea rescue craft Spirit of Dawn at 10h40 on Saturday 13 August, to deliver mechanical repair tools to the vessel Viking Extreme.

The vessel, suffering motor mechanical problems, had two crew and seven passengers onboard, off-shore of Margate.

On arrival on the scene the tools were transferred to the casualty craft and NSRI stood by on-scene while repairs were made and once the motor problem was repaired successfully no further assistance was required and NSRI returned to base.
