NSRI Shelly Beach assisted a boat offshore of Uvongo on Sunday.

Antoinette le Roux, NSRI Shelly Beach deputy station commander, in a statement said: “At 13h12, Sunday, 02 April, NSRI Shelly Beach launched the sea rescue craft Caltex Challenger II to assist the boat Magic, offshore of Uvongo, suffering steering failure.

“On arrival on the scene NSRI provided tools and stood by on the scene while the crew of Magic used the tools provided by NSRI to repair the steering failure and once the steering was repaired they were able to beach their craft safely without assistance and no further assistance was required.”
