Community members caught a glimpse of the lives of NSRI Shelly Beach crew on Saturday.
The Shelly Beach-based Station 20 held its annual open day to recruit new members and allow members of the public to visit and see what they do.
Crew members showed locals the equipment, gave a tour of the base, taught CPR and answered questions.
Deputy station commander Antoinette le Roux said it was another successful day.
“The day went very well. It is always good to show the public around and we have a few potential crew coming in,” she said.
