STATEMENT BY LOWER SOUTH COAST SPCA:

On Thursday, the world changed for one dog! We named him Salvado (in Spanish meaning rescue)

“The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” – Albert Einstein

Mike Davis received a complaint involving a dog. He never expected to find this beautiful dog tied with a rope to a chain.

He had no water and had just given up. Day after day tied up. No freedom. Just another dog on a chain. A statistic of animal abuse.

Mike Davis convinced the owners to surrender Salvado.

This gentle boy just licked Mike’s hand. Was he showing gratitude?

Finally free from his life of torture. This broken soul just laid in the back of the bakkie.

At the SPCA, he was taken to a kennel. He went and laid down on the soft clean duvet. He could not look at anyone. Just kept his head in the corner. Shy without any dignity left.

Salvado, Mike rescued you. We cannot change your past but we can help you find a forever loving family. We promise you will never be chained again.

In the days to follow, Salvado will receive special food to boost his immune system. He will be vaccinated, neutered and dewormed.
