Uvongo parkrun volunteers held their Christmas lunch recently.

These volunteers are the live-blood of the popular local event, organising and running it every Saturday.

The unsung heroes thank Margate Round Table 46 for a fantastic Christmas lunch.

The Uvongo parkrun is a fun, free event every Saturday at 8am organised by volunteers for the benefit of all athletes.

The 5km route starts just off the St Michael’s beach parking lot and leads onto Saints Walk path, continuing adjacent to Orange Rocks Road on grass, past Orange Rocks through the coastal reserve and onto the grass verge between Stafford Avenue and the sea.

From there, it’s onto brick paving leading down and onto Uvongo beach, turning on sand under the cliffs at the gorge and returning the same way, and then 300m on St Michael’s beach up to and ending on the grass in front of C-Bali Restaurant.
