The Port Shepstone ladies hockey team took on Collegians/Munies in their second game of the season on Saturday.

It was a hard-fought match, with the opposition scoring first, but the Sheppie ladies came back firing, scoring straight after Collegians/Munies’ goal from a short corner.

The Sheppie ladies had to weather a relentless onslaught for the remainder of the half and did so with aplomb, defending seven short corners in a row to go into the break tied at 1-1.

The Sheppie ladies’ came out with a bang in the second half and took the lead.

Unfortunately for them, luck was not on their side. They had a number of missed opportunities while Collegians/Munies made the most of theirs and secured a 4-2 win.

An industrious Kerry Herbert (pictured) was named Player of the Match.

The Sheppie ladies take on Gryphons 1 this Saturday, while a couple of the club’s players will be taking part in the NCD trials on Sunday.
