Sherwood Forest in Marina Beach will be hosting their annual potjiekos competition on Sunday.
All proceeds will be donated to the Lower South Coast SPCA.
It promises to be a fun day for the whole family with games, sport and a jumping castle for children, a live auction, great prizes and of course, delicious potjies.
The competition will get underway at 8am and judging will take place at 1pm. Entry into the competition is R150. Those who prefer eating to cooking can dig in at R40 per plate for adults and R30 for children. The coffee shop will also be open should you wish to order a coffee, sandwich, cake etc. during the course of the day.
Please bring along old blankets or unwanted towels, dog or cat food for the SPCA and support the live auction. Items that will be auctioned off include a Persian carpet runner, wood mirror, Fat Bastard wine and Lake Eland scooter ride tickets.
This year’s potjiekos champions will walk away with a Megamaster braai. Second prize is Lake Eland zip line tickets, third prize is a 12-piece stainless steel BBQ tool set, fourth prize (best decorated table) is a travel suitcase, fifth prize (best team spirit) is a doggy hamper and sixth prize (the person who sold the most potjiekos) is a wine hamper. There will also be a lucky draw of a beautiful basket at R30 per ticket.
