Port Shepstone Hockey Club players are keen to make their mark for KwaZulu-Natal Coastals in the South African Country Districts tournaments.

As we reported in May, seven of the club’s men’s players were selected, of which Chris Stewart, Lionel Wentzel, Matt Redinger and Jarred Ross were able to make the trip to Rustenburg, where they’re representing the A-team this week.

They lost their opener against Northern Daisies 3-0 on Sunday and bounced back in style with a 5-0 win over Limpopo on Monday.

Meanwhile, Fortunate Mnikathi, Kelly Rothman and Portia Ntobela-Malimba (pictured) will feature for the KwaZulu-Natal Coastals ladies A-team in Paarl next week.

“This is an outstanding achievement from these players and as one can see, Sheppie Hockey Club is going from strength to strength,” Port Shepstone Hockey Club chairman Donovan Rothman told eHowzit.
