Umtentweni teenager Bianca-May Theunissen has been discharged from EThekwini Hospital and is recuperating well at home after her recent freak horsing accident in Paddock.

The 18-year-old suffered serious head trauma when the horse she was riding fell on top of her and stepped on her head while attempting to stand up.

She was in a coma and in intensive care for nearly a week before being moved into high care and took the most promising step on her road to recovery this week when she returned home.

Her father Pete commented: “Bianca is recovering remarkably every day.

“She is our precious angel. She is walking without support and is having lengthy although very confusing chats with us all.

“I would like to thank everybody for their prayers and well wishes we received from everywhere.

“It is at times like this that you realise how mighty our Heavenly Father is.

“Praise to God for her healing and I know he is willing and she will be completely healed.”

Her mother Kerry-Lee Jesson added: “She is alive…beautiful and it may take a while, but I’m quite sure she will be back to her sporty self again, it’s just heart-breaking right now…

“She is brave and strong and we will get through this with a testimony of a miracle.”
