South Coast horse-riding teen Bianca-May out of ICU

Umtentweni teenager Bianca-May Theunissen, who suffered head trauma in a freak horsing accident in Paddock last week, has been moved out of intensive care at EThekwini Hospital.

The 18-year-old was moved into high care, where she will continue her road to recovery.

Her progress is an encouraging sign for her family and friends.

“She’s an inspiration…I love her so much,” her mother Kerry-Lee Jesson said.

It’s believed the horse Theunissen was riding tripped and fell on top of her. She didn’t sustain any broken bones, however, she suffered a serious head injury when the horse believably stepped on her head while trying to get up.
