South Coast teen in coma after freak horsing accident

Multi-talented Umtentweni teenager Bianca-May Theunissen is in a coma following a freak horsing accident in Paddock on Wednesday.

Theunissen sustained serious injuries when she fell off a polocrosse horse and was rushed to Ethekwini Hospital.

Her mother Kerry-Lee Jesson confirmed the news, saying “I’m brokenhearted.”

The 18-year-old is an avid mountain bike rider and recently joined the Burry Stander Foundation team.

Jesson thanked the community for their messages of support, which have poured in on social media.

“Thank you for all the love and prayers. Please keep praying for healing,” said Jesson.
