Ugu karateka deliver at KZN Development Champs

A group of Ugu karateka attended the KwaZulu-Natal Development Championships held in Tongaat on Sunday.

This competition was held to identify up-and-coming karateka for development in the White to Purple/Red category.

The following karateka from Suid-Natal Martial Arts Academy were part of the Ugu team who obtained medals and will represent the province at the upcoming KSA National Developments Championships to be held at Durban University of Technology on 24 August:

Tiaan Labuschagne (bronze unison), Ezekiel Ulbricht (bronze unison), Xayden Putter (bronze unison),  Jayden Oosthuizen (bronze kumite and bronze unison), Ciandri du Preez (gold kumite and silver kata), CJ Knoesen (bronze kata), Blake Hogan (gold kumite and bronze unison), Tyrese Faro (silver kumite, silver kata and bronze unison), Cian Zanderberg (bronze kumite), Tiaan Retief (gold kumite), Tinielle Burger (gold kumite) and Stefan Labuschagne (silver kumite).

“We are extremely proud of the karateka’s performances and wish them all the best at the national tournament,” said Sensei Coenie Very.
