Ugu South Coast Tourism CEO Justin Mackrory has praised the efforts of Des Gutzeit and his team ahead of this weekend’s major event at Dezzi Raceway.
The Oslo Beach track has fast become a favourite for many of the country’s top drivers in the Auto Trader SupaDrift Series and is preparing to host Round Five of the national championship as well as an invitational time attack this weekend.
Mackrory lauded the role the Gutzeits have played in boosting South Coast tourism, saying, “We would like to extend our congratulations to the Dezzi team who have always been pro-active with regards to creating events of such interest to the public, bringing in visitors from afar.
“Our unique offerings and events on the greater South Coast are really gaining momentum and creating an increasingly `top of mind’ mentality of where to go and what to do on the weekends.
“This is exactly what tourism sets out to do – showcase the best of the best and without the support of the community at large, this would not be possible. So here’s to an adrenaline-filled event!”
Dezzi Raceway will, for the first time, host the national drifting championship in the evening on Saturday.
The Auto Trader SupaDrift Series event will take place alongside the Dezzi Invitational, which will see 35 of South Africa’s top drivers compete in the country’s premier time attack circuit.
Tickets range from R50 to R120 and will be available at the gate.
