The South Coast buzzed with sardine excitement on Sunday.
Pumula and Margate were the prime spots where great numbers were caught.
Pumula was the place to be as it produced a major haul. Eight nets were pulled, filling hundreds of crates.
The sardines were very close to the beach, allowing beachgoers to net their own.
The little silver fish were also netted in Margate.
Meanwhile, a disappointment reader sent us the following message and photos: “Please see damage done to Elysium Beach and dunes. The morning after sardine chaos. Lots of NPS 4X4s. Some just joyriding. And this was a km from where they parked and launched boats. (That area a lot worse.)”
