Friday morning water supply update from Ugu

Please note the following systems status update:


Treatment works is in full operational capacity and boosters are all running: South, North and Marburg.

Umzimkhulu/Northern System: The supply is stable and northern reservoir levels are healthy. The break on Link Road that was affecting Tweni supply was completed last night.

Marburg System: The Marburg reservoir is healthy and electrician to start Esperanza pumps to top Esperanza reservoir.

Uvongo, Shelly Beach and Margate CBD reservoir healthy. The no-water complaint in Margate has been dispatched to team. The reported break in Margate will also be attended to. Our team are currently on site investifating as to why there is no water in Shelly Beach and Palm Kloof.

Gamalakhe system healthy main reservoir above 70% and tower above 80%.

Seaslopes system: Ramsgate line opened, plumber attending to South reservoir level drop. Kaisers, Nosita and Game reserve pumps all running. Nosita game reservoir outlet opened, the outlet will be shut during night to assist reservoir level to build up. Pump supply majority of connections on the main and surplus feed the reservoir.

Umthavuna system:

Plant operational on full capacity..

Hanover pump station feeding inland system of Izingolweni and KwaXolo.

Coastal system:

BP2 is feeding lower coastal areas: Port Edward, Leisure Bay and Palm beach.

Northern line will be opened in the afternoon to feed Grassmere, HP line to Southbroom. Team dispatched to start Banners Rest.

Water tanker relief measure during lockdown period will be communicated soon.
