Monday water supply update from Ugu

WATER SERVICES UPDATE: 29 APRIL 2019

AREA NORTH:
Please be informed that as of this morning, we are pumping to Koelwaters and surrounding areas after the burst pipe on Bazley was fixed over the weekend.

SCOTTBURGH:
The Scottburgh Reservoir that was overflowing has been attended to by our technicians.

UMZINTO SYSTEM:
Eskom started working on Friday and completed repairs last night. Pumps were started this morning and Reservoir is building. Please note that the outlet is still closed to build up capacity. Parts of Malangeni will get water today.

MTHWALUME SYSTEM:
Mthwalume area has minor breaks which are being attended to. The Nkambini area currently has no water and technicians are on site investigate. In the Interim, this area is being supplied by water tankers.

AREA SOUTH:

NOSITHA AND MARGATE EXT 3:
Supply in the areas of Nositha and Margate Ext 3 remains affected. kaizers is building up and will soon feed these systems:

GAMALAKHE:
Water supply has been restored at 4Rooms in Gamalakhe. Mashayisinqe and Vela Shazi Road are still being worked on by technicians to restore supply.

LOUISIANA:
Supply in Louisiana also remains affected due the pipeline that was affected during the floods. Work is being done to restore supply.

RAMSGATE:
Ramsgate North is stable and repairs on Ramsgate South were completed last night. Plumber is on site charging Ramsgate 4A.

PORT EDWARD:
Port Edward break work is still in progress, we’ll update once completed. Water trucks have been dispatched.
BHOMELA:
Steel line at the river crossing needs welding. Work on this is pending.

IZONGOLWENI, KWAXOLO
Izingolweni system will started pumping this morning and the KwaXolo, Gcilima and Shobeni systems will commence with build up process.

MARBURG:
This Reservoir is not sufficiently building up. Investigations to resume to detect the cause.

SANITATION:
Margate 3A, Uvongo 3 and Port Shepstone 2 pump stations are back online after being affected by floods. Oslo Beach remains offline, technicians to put a temporary rising main for this pump station to be operational.

AREA SOUTH WEST:
Umphakathi wakwaFodo uyaziswa ukuthi intilivo yakulendawo ine payipi eliqhumile. Abasebenzi bazoqalisa umsebenzi wokulilungisa namhlanje.

Intililo yakwaNyuswa ibinengika yesivalo samanzi. UMasipala ukulungisile lokhu ngoMgqibelo.

Harding is stable however, there are leaks which are being attended to by the technicians
