It was a busy day for Ugu District mayor Cllr Sizwe Ngcobo as he reaches out to three different venues for district outreach programs on Thursday.

His first stop was a visit to Port Shepstone Regional Hospital for a Health Institutions Monitoring Program, where he was joined by MEC for Social Development Nonhlanhla Khoza, Ray Nkonyeni mayor Cllr Cynthia Mqwebu and members of KZN legislature.

This was followed by the district launch of One Home One Garden at Umzumbe Ward 9. Mayor Ngcobo and MEC Khoza were then joined by Umzumbe mayor Cllr Zungu where they handed over gardening materials and Jojo tanks to community members. They also planted vegetables in community gardens.

The day was wrapped with a trip back to Ray Nkonyeni. An amount of over R11 million was handed over to farmers of Ugu District as Covid-19 relief funds from the government. Mayors from all four local municipalities were present.
