MEDIA STATEMENT BY RNM:

The Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has entered into a partnership with the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), for the development of the Road Infrastructure Master Plan.

In the Council meeting held on Tuesday 26 November 2019, Council approved acceptance of a grant from the Development Bank of South Africa to develop an RNM Road Infrastructure Master Plan. This grant of R3.5 million will assist the municipality to understand the state of the road infrastructure including the storm water drainage system.

The master plan will then lead to clear plans on what needs to be done to better the state of our roads including the storm water drainage system. The master plan will be covering all the roads within Ray Nkonyeni Municipality which includes all urban and rural roads. With this, the municipality aims at ensuring that the municipality revitalises its road infrastructure as currently it faces various challenges for a variety of reasons.
