Please note the following status updates:
Bhobhoyi waterworks are operating at maximum capacity with Margate, Northern, Southern boosters and Sport n Leisure all running.
Umzimkhulu reservoir: reservoir built up overnight to above 70%; tower pumps have been opened and Northern line opened (team will start bleeding the supply main) to Tweni, Anerley, Melville, Southport, Hibberdene and Woodgrange. The no water is due to low North Shepstone and Melville levels which will be restored in the afternoon as the reservoir build up. Supply to Umzimkhulu is on the 300 and 400 (reduced) main.
Marburg: Esperanza pumps are off to build up Marburg reservoir and will be started this afternoon.
Margate CBD, Uvongo, Shelly Beach supply reservoirs levels all stable.
Seaslopes Command reservoir is above 60%: feed to Ramsgate South and North opened. Kaisers pump running and supply to Margate Ext 7 and Gayridge opened. Nosita pumps are not running due to telemetry fault. This task has since been given to telemetry technician to resolve. We don’t have timeframes available at the moment. As a result, Margate Ext 3 and Nosita supply affected.
Gamalakhe reservoir and tower above 80% and Sport n Leisure running.
Treatment works operational: Hanover pump station feeding KwaXolo system.
Izingolweni supply off due to break on the main supply line (illegal connection work caused a break on the line).
Coastal system: BP2 line opened to Port Edward, Leisure bay, Grassmere and Southbroom.
