IMPORTANT ANNOUNCMENT FROM SOUTH COAST BIKE FEST ORGANISERS – AS PUBLISHED ON OFFICIAL SOUTH COAST BIKE FEST FACEBOOK PAGE ON THURSDAY, 2 MAY:

In light of the RTI roadblocks set in place over the SCBF19 weekend, organisers will  in future be providing a secure bike park on site as well as a 24-hour biker complimentary shuttle service between the festival and accommodation establishments between Shelly Beach and Southbroom.

The report back from KZN Department of Transport is that roadblocks were held at Gamalakhe, Marburg, Port Shepstone, Southbroom, Margate, Uvongo & Ramsgate.

850 vehicles were stopped and 117 motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. In total 72 motorists appeared in court; these cases have all been postponed to July awaiting blood test reports.

According to RTI Director, these roadblocks were part of the 365 RTI plan and of the 117 arrested only 4 of these were bikers.

If you are a biker and were arrested at the festival, please email info@southcoastbikefest.co.za.
