Ugu District Municipality councillors led by acting mayor Cllr Mthiyane and staff personnel led by municipal manager DD Naidoo spent their 67 minutes of Mandela Day at Ikhayalethu Disability Centre in KwaNzimakwe.

Various items including linen, paint, curtains, matresses, towels, hair cutting machines and lots of other valuable items were donated to the Centre, which accommodates children with disability from all over KZN.

Thanks to good samaritans for their donations and the contributions made by both staff and councillors from their own pockets. It was a day well spent at the Centre.

Former MEC for Economic Development and Tourism in KwaZulu-Natal Mike Mabuyakhulu was among those who graced the occasion.
