STATEMENT BY UGU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY ON WEDNESDAY MORNING 11/2:

The work on the planned shutdown on Bhobhoyi plant is in progress as from 6am.

Team is busy stripping the two valves to access the gate section.

The plan to continue feeding the southern system has hit a snag due to interlinking valves that were bypassing and water flooding the working site. Both plant reservoir have now been isolated.

Southern system (Seaslopes, Gamalakhe, Uvongo, Shelly beach), Murchison pumps, Marburg/Oslo beach, Northern System all isolated.

With all systems down; alternative filling point in Southbroom is being set up.

Thank you
Ugu District Municipality
