STATEMENT BY UMDONI MUNICIPALITY:

Another two employees in the Scottburgh and Renishaw Offices have disclosed to have tested positive to Covid-19 on Wednesday.

The employee at the Refuse Collection section under Technical Services currently on self-isolation.

The employee at the Scottburgh office was assisting as a receptionist from Monday this week.

The municipality urges members of the public that have interacted with the staff member at reception since Monday to visit a health institution for testing.

The municipality is working on having the office building disinfected this evening so that it is hygienically ready for the rest staff members to continue working tomorrow.

Since the first case that recorded a few weeks ago, the number of positive cases have increased to eight. The municipality is also pleased to inform the community and personnel that some of the employees that tested positive have since been cleared of the virus thus resuming duty.

In the midst of this pandemic that threatens the health of our employees, the municipality extends its gratitude to members of the public who have been sympathetic to the situation thus exercising patience and understanding when it matters the most.
