The World’s Biggest Action Sports Show, as it has been billed, takes place in Durban today, and yesterday eHowzit was part of a select media contingent who were treated to an exclusive behind the scenes tour for the first glimpse of Nitro Circus’s multi-million dollar set at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

eHowzit were shown how the world-class venue had been transformed for the World’s Biggest Action Sports Show – Nitro Circus Live’s first ever event in Durban today.

eHowzit also had the opportunity to meet South Africa’s very own freestyle motocross ace Nick de Wit, who will be part of the Nitro Circus Live crew, as well as Nitro Circus originals, Canadian freestyle motocross star Jolene van Vugt and multi-talented “Special” Greg Powell, cousin of legendary action sports star and Nitro Circus founder Travis Pastrana.

See exclusive photos of Tuesday’s behind the scenes tour below, as well as a brief video production.

Led by Pastrana, the Nitro Circus Live crew consist of 40 of the world’s best action sports athletes, who thrill spectators with innovative freestyle motocross, BMX and skateboarding moves off their multi-million dollar set and famous 50-foot high Nitro Gigant-A-Ramp.

The awe-inspiring show also includes the crew pushing the boundaries on skates, scooters and a range of crazy contraptions including a drinks cooler, Barbie car, toy trike, shopping trolley and bodyboard.

Nitro Circus started as a small DVD series filmed in Pastrana’s Maryland backyard and rapidly evolved into a successful MTV show and later a feature film. Nitro Circus Live was launched in 2010 and has since captured the imagination of fans worldwide with a string of sell-out shows and record-breaking crowds.

Fresh off wrapping up their first North American tour, the star-studded crew are finally making their much anticipated South African debut. The crew performed in Cape Town last Saturday and, say they will take Durban to the extreme today.
