The KwaZulu-Natal South Snooker League came to an end with nail-biting matches at Margate Country Club last week.

Two players that stood out were Mpex Mtokozisi (pictured) and Siyanda Nkonyeni, who, having played snooker for the first time, finished second and third in the league.

Mthokozisi displayed his natural talent by making his highest break of 48 in snooker. Both players who lacked experience potted their way to the top.

These two players have proven that they want to get their games to a higher level and with coaching and guidance from the league’s number one player Selvin Moodley, they will surely get there.

In the Doubles Knockout, Selvin Moodley and Flip Fourie beat JJ Kruger and Mpex Mthokozisi 3-1, while Yega Katharian and Collin Chetty beat Ivan Naidoo and Bobby Govender 3-2.

Both winning teams progress to the semi-finals this Friday at 18h30. The finals will be played on Saturday at 15h00.
