A third suspect, a 22-year-old man, implicated in the house robbery and assault in Pollux Road, Oslo Beach, last week, has been arrested. He was picked up in Bhoboyi by the Port Shepstone Police Tracing team last night. He will be appearing in court on Wednesday with the other two suspects, aged 29 and 19, who were arrested on Monday night.
Earlier, the Port Shepstone SAPS Corporate Communication Section stated that thorough forensic investigation and a subsequent search for a wanted suspect, led to the arrest of two suspects in the house robbery and assault case last Wednesday at Pollux road, Oslo Beach. On Wednesday DWO Brian Henning from the Local Criminal Record Centre started investigating the scene for forensic evidence. He was joined by WO Shaun Pedlar, WO Thandeka Ngubane and Cst Nathaniel Zachariah. After many hours of methodically searching for evidence, WO Henning made the break through and linked a possible suspect to the crime scene. A man hunt began for the suspect. Last night (Monday 2013-09-09 at 19:00) the suspect was arrested together with another suspect who we believe was also involved in committing the crime. Certain items which were stolen from the crime scene, were also found in the house in Bhoboyi where they were arrested. We are still looking for two more suspects who we also have reason to believe that they were also responsible for other crimes in the area. DWO Lami Mjweni is the investigating officer. Port Shepstone Cluster Commander, Major general Thembi Ndlovu, who made it clear to the Port Shepstone police members that the suspects must be hunted, was delighted when she was informed about the arrests. The suspects will be appearing in the Port Shepstone court today, Wedesday, on charges of House robbery. DWO Mjweni will oppose bail and will ask for a remand date for further investigation.
