The second edition of the South Coast Bass Challenge took place on Sunday.
The organisers, the South Coast Bass Association, were thankful to host another great group of anglers and with rain predicted for the day earlier in the week, beautiful weather was enjoyed on the day.
The day started with a briefing and lucky draws in Glenmore Beach. Anglers then headed out to their allocated dam for the day.
Fishing was tough but many fish were landed on the day. The biggest fish for the day was landed by Club Chairman, Thys Hoffman (pictured), measuring in at 58.5cm.
The competition format allows for a prize for the longest fish per each of the three dams on the day.
The winners were:
Dam 1 Port Edward: Kayla Wiid – 45 cm.
Dam 2 Port Edward: Thys Hoffman – 58.5 cm.
Dam 3 Southbroom: Werner Grobler – 40 cm.
With another successful competition hosted, preparations are already underway for the next event, provisionally set for the end of January. More information about the next event will be available in due course.
