The South Coast Striders hosted a highly-enjoyable Beloved Long Run at Oribi Gorge on Saturday.
A group of 30 runners from the South Coast and Durban participated in the scenic 27km run, which started at the hotel, took runners down to the bottom of the Gorge and back.
Beloved Long Runs is an informal long run group that hosts runs all over the province and aims to create community amongst KwaZulu-Natal runners and clubs while helping runners achieve their goals in a safe environment.
“The runners thoroughly enjoyed it, but the legs are bit stiff, even two days later,” said Striders running captain Mark Smith.
With under four weeks to go to the Comrades, Smith said he’s very happy with the training the club members have put in.
This year’s Comrades takes place on 9 June and is an up-run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
