Golf competitions got off to a slow start at Margate Country Club last week due to unfavourable weather conditions.
By Wednesday morning, a few of the Wobblers braved the miserable conditions and played a threeball alliance with two to count and three to count on the par 5’s. Winning the day on 79 points was the team of Frank Merrill, Ernie Janse and Peter Hunter.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Alan Davies, Peter Davies and Hans Beilhartz on 65 points.
The Margate Pro Shop competition, played in an individual point scoring format was won by Pierre Malherbe (pictured) on a count out with 35 points. Losing the count out and coming second was Wayne Minnaar, also on 35 points. Nearest to the pin on the 4th hole went to Alan Davies and on the 11th hole to Rob Kendell.

Second place went to Carlos Pereira and Chris Redelinghuys on 43 points, while Alan Davies and Kim Howden secured third place on a count out with 42 points.
