Plenty of golf developments at Port Shepstone Country Club

Port Shepstone Country Club’s Hulley Garrun Van Wyk Challenge, played on a medal basis with the Monthly Mug, resumes on Saturday, 1 August.

The Challenge and the Monthly Mug will continue on the first Saturday of each month until December. All those members paid up for the challenge are urged to participate.


Those still in the running for the President’s Cup, President’s Shield and the Victory Cup are urged to fulfill their fixtures as the end date has been extended to 31 October.


This is scheduled for Wednesday, 12 August at 5pm. Golfers are urged to attend. Nomination forms are available at the office.


This tournament has been postponed to later in the year at a date to be decided by the new golf committee.


Wednesday’s individual stableford competition was won by Peter Stoppel on 36 points.

Paul Geoffery counted out Gerald Koch for second place on 35.

Saturday’s betterball stableford competition was won by Dave Mee and Greg Hornby on 49.

Two points adrift in second place were Lionel Peters and Liana Klopper and a further two points back in third were Springbok legend Rudi “Vleis” Visagie and Basil King.
