The sixth hosting of the South Coast Ultra, previously known as the Hibiscus Challenge, will be held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on Sunday.

The event offers a 10km and 21km run and walk as well as a 48km ultra marathon, which is a Comrades qualifying race. Ray Nkonyeni Municipality are once again sponsoring the event and South Coast Striders are the organising club.

The 48km route will take athletes along Marine Drive past Shelly Centre and all those that will be eagerly awaiting the mass bike ride will be able to clap the runners through.

There will be refreshments stations along the route and locals are encouraged to come out and cheer the athletes on.

Online entries have closed, however, manual entries will be taken on Saturday between 1-5pm and on the morning of the race at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.
