Seven dead in Scottburgh N2 accident

In a horrific accident on the N2 near Scottburgh on Friday night, seven people lost their lives.  Three cars caught alight after colliding.  Five other people were seriously injured.

Netcare 011 spokesman Chris Botha said on Saturday paramedics found injured at the side of the road.   Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

And on the R102 near the Suid-Natal Primary school in Sheppie, an HCM fire fighting vehicle and a car with a Free State registration number collided on Friday afternoon.   The driver was taken to hospital.

Also in Port Shepstone, a 12-year-old child drowned in the tidal pool on the beachfront a around midday on Friday.   No further info available at this stage.
