The Rotary Club of Shelly Beach will perform their annual melodrama, this year entitled “The Beat of the Street”, at Port Shepstone Town Hall in October.
The comedy stage show comprises various skits, parodying the rivalry between a typically South African and a typically Indian restaurant, across the street from each other, on Baker Street.
The show showcases the shenanigans taking place between the two restaurants in order to drum up business for their respective businesses, and how they eventually work together to liven up the Baker Street precinct.
Various well-known members of the community from different walks of life and various businesses and service clubs will be taking part in the show and acting out of their comfort zone.
The show takes place on Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October.
Tickets cost R100 for the Thursday night show, which includes a light finger supper, and R140 for the Friday and Saturday shows, which include a three-course meal.
