Port Shepstone High School head girl Libonge Potelwa has a special message for her peers:
“We all eagerly anticipated a lot from our final year of high school. To say the least – it was nothing anyone expected.
“Looking back at the course of this year, I am reminded of how far we’ve come as matrics and how we’ve matured through the experiences we’ve endured this year.
“What makes me so proud is our ability to remain so resilient during such trying times. It’s the warrior spirit for me…
“I think since coming into the school as juniors, we’ve always known we were, as a group, quite different from the rest. Everything we’ve endured this year, it had to happen to US!
“We’ve proven ourselves not only to be an intelligent generation, but also a pretty strong one. No other group would’ve handled this year better than we have (or at least I’d like to believe so), and we most certainly couldn’t have done it without each other.
“Not to mention without the consistent support of our educators who have been the driving force throughout our journey.
“This year has definitely forced us into maturity and I think it’s safe to say that the world is ready for us now…time to STEP OUT and STEP UP!”
