It was a privilege for Port Shepstone High School boys and staff to be invited to the Capping Ceremony of the Sharks High Schools teams as they prepare for The Coca Cola Craven Week, The Academy Week and The Under-16 Grant Khomo Week.

Our boys, namely Ross Carter, Tyreek Naicker, Chè Woodenberg and Menzi Nxumalo made the U18 Country Districts team and our Sports Director Andy Ngcobo is the team’s assistant coach.

They will travel to the Western Cape and will be hosted by Paarl Boys High for the Craven Week.

There were speeches by Gary Teichmann CEO of The Sharks, the High Schools Rugby Association Chairman Gerald Pyoos and President of the KZNRU Francois Louis.

This was followed by questions and answers with three of the Sharks players Lubabalo ‘Tera’ Mtembu, Franco Marais and Marius Louw, which was well handled by the Vice-Chairman Tony Richter.

Here’s wishing you a hugely successful rugby week; cherish the moment and remember it’s for the love of the game first and foremost.
