Talented teenager Lizzie Currie won the annual Sanlam Cancer Challenge at Port Shepstone Country Club on Thursday.

The club’s ladies golfers threw their collective weight behind the worthy cause and helped raise funds for CANSA.

Currie clinched the win, while Beryl Olden won the B Division and Hermien Theunissen won the C Division.

The trio won prizes sponsored by Sanlam and advanced to the next round of the tournament.

They were presented with their prizes by Theoff Botha, chairman of the regional committee for CANSA, and Diresh Vallaeh, financial advisor at Sanlam Port Shepstone.

Meanwhile, Trevor Green won Wednesday’s individual bogey Bisque on +5 after counting out Denis Schmidt, Paul Geoffery and Ken Morris.

Saturday ‘s combined stableford, in turn, was won by Gerald Koch and Rob Calder on 77 points.

Trevor Green and Graham Dickson were second on 76 points, Gavin van Wyk and Ken Morris third on 74 points and Howard Frizelle and Leon Reeders fourth on 72 points.
