Southport police arrest four people for possession of stolen property and dagga

STATEMENT BY PORT SHEPSTONE SAPS:

On Monday evening at 19:00  cst Zimela Xaba from Hibberdene police received information and contacted Southport police members.  He accompanied Sgt Mtobeni Ngqulunga, cst Bigboy Xaba and cst Gugu Mkane   from Southport SAPS and they managed to stop a certain taxi that was en route from Port Shepstone to Qwabe location in the Southport area.  They searched the taxi and arrested a 45-year-old woman who had in her possession two bags filled with dagga (20kg).  She was charged and will appear in Port Shepstone court today for Dealing in dagga.

On Tuesday morning at 02:00 Sgt Mtobeni Ngqulunga and Cst Gracia  Mokoena  from Southport police were on duty when they saw three men walking on the railway line in the Umzumbe area.  They were carrying stuff.  When the police members approached them, two ran away.  One man (35) was caught in possession of a flat screen TV, Sony play station, surround sound system, DVD player and other items.  After questioning the suspect , it was discovered that the items were stolen from a house where they had broken into earlier.  The owner was contacted and has yet to open a case of house breaking.  The suspect will be charged for possession of stolen property and appear in court soon.
