The official opening of launch sites for recreational angling was an opportunity for many to get back on the water and at Shelly Beach Ski-Boat Club, fishermen wasted no time at all getting stuck in on Monday.

Great conditions welcomed eager anglers back after over two months of being sidelined under lockdown and saw them reel in a lot of yellowfin tuna on Protea Banks.

The crew on Bliksem got some very decent tuna but the catch of the day went to Cameron Palmer (pictured) with a 28kg wahoo caught on a live mackerel on Aqua Brat.

The club commended anglers for complying with the Covid-19 regulations at the launch site while Commodore Leon Garbade was praised for playing a pivotal part in the reopening of the launch site.
