The incredibly dedicated South Coast Hospice team received a measure of the recognition they deserve on Friday.

The staff were acknowledged with ‘bags of appreciation’ from local residents and organisations for their unwavering care and compassion for the terminally ill during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Today was a very special day. The bags of appreciation are a wonderful way to express appreciation of all the staff, who have ensured that Hospice remains open for the quality care and support of people in our community,” commented South Coast Hospice fundraiser, BT King.

“Our grateful thanks to Linda Sharp, Theresa Knox, Andrew Thompson and Ronel Fitchet and all the caring people who wrote letters of encouragement to the staff for their contribution to the ‘Love Bags’ and a very special thank you to our own Vixie Sharp for the beautiful cross-stitching work done for each and every bag,” she added.

Now more than ever, residents and businesses are urged to support Hospice through donations as the lockdown has forced them to cancel all of their fund-raising events – events they’re completely dependent on to stay open.
